Canon Ryan was a wonderful priest to work with. Probably because he is Irish, he was very laid back and always had a tale or ten to tell, and his great sense of humour always made for a great deal of laughter in the house. There are two things I will always remember about my time with Father Ryan and be thankful for the experience. He allowed me space and the opportunity to grow in my early ministry, encouraging me to work hard - and to work harder.

Also, during my time in St Bride’s, I had a hospital stay and recovered at home for a few weeks. Father Ryan -- sorry, Canon Ryan - visited me every day which meant a lot to me and is something I will always remember.
